Jenny Jenson, voice

Jenny Jenson earned a Bachelors of Music and Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from Brigham Young University . At BYU, she performed Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen and Mabel in Pirates of Penzance. Other solos include the soprano roles in Handel’s Messiah with Provo City and Bach’s St. Matthew’s Passion with the Wasatch Chorale. Recipient of the Robert J. Bowden Award and Louise C. Wimmer Award at BYU, Jenny also placed 1st and 2nd in advanced college division for the NATS annual competition.

She is proficient not only in classical and operatic styles, but also in mix, legit, and pop/belt styles. In 2005, she debuted Most Wanted at the Sundance Institute Theater Lab. Most Wanted was directed by Michael Greif (of Rent fame) and James Sampliner (of Legally Blond). The cast consisted of professional actors and singers both on and off Broadway. Jenny is currently a regular performer in festivals, concerts, and professional evemts in both Salt Lake and Utah County.

She has taught privately since 2002. Her students have competed and placed in regional voice competitions and also been admitted to vocal performance programs at Brigham Young University , Brigham Young University-Idaho, and Utah State University, and Southern Utah University.
